This past Sunday, on June 8, 2206, at 10 AM, a wonderful group gathered for our twice a year Waterfall Meditation & Trek at Wadsworth Falls in Middletown, Connecticut. The weather could not have been better: warm, comfortable, and refreshed by recent rains that left the waterfall flowing with exceptional beauty and power.
As we sat together in meditation before the falls, participants were immersed in the soothing sounds of cascading water and the fresh, ionized air that seemed to fill the atmosphere with a special energy. One participant described the experience simply as, “It was amazing!” Another shared that during meditation, the waterfall appeared to move in slow motion, while another remarked, “How can you not have a great meditation experience with this background sound and great air?”
Following our period of quiet sitting, we practiced walking meditation along the wide woodland trails surrounding the falls, taking in the beauty and stillness of the forest. Afterwards, a smaller group continued on for an additional hike along the Orange Trail before departing.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this memorable morning of mindfulness, nature, and community. We look forward to gathering again for our next Waterfall Meditation experience this autumn.
