Highlights from Our Winter Sound Bath: A Journey into Deep Peace

On Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, the Buddhist Faith Fellowship hosted a transformative Winter Sound Bath experience at the Mansfield Freeman Center in Middletown, CT, with the serene Shôyôan Teien Japanese Garden as our backdrop. Nearly 40 participants joined us in person for this restorative immersion, led by the gifted Kris Emory—a certified Reiki Master, Crystal Healer, and Sound Healer with nearly 30 years of experience, drawing from her Cherokee Nation heritage.

Using crystal singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and gentle vibrations, Kris guided us into a meditative state of profound relaxation. Attendees shared glowing feedback: many felt an immediate sense of calm and clarity, with others noting a positive mind shift that lingered long after. “I walked out smiling, feeling renewed,” one participant said—echoing the joyful energy as everyone departed with uplifted spirits. Many also expressed gratitude to our Dharma Teacher, G.R. Lewis, for organizing this wonderful event.

A big thank you to Kris Emory for sharing her gifts and leading us toward deep inner peace amid the winter hush. This event was a beautiful reminder of how sound healing can nurture body, mind, and spirit in our community.
