Wadsworth Falls Field Trip Highlights

Our Sunday morning field trip to Wadsworth Falls in Middletown, Connecticut , on  October 19, 2025, was filled with soothing meditation practice next to the beautiful cascade, and  the breathtaking beauty of a warm New England autumn.

Our gathering began with silent sitting meditation by the magnificient waterfall, enhanced by the faint sizzle of ionized air and humming sound of the water that acted like “white out noise” that helped calm the mind and emotions. After 20 minutes, we practiced walking meditation through the woods near the cascade and then returned to our chairs for a short still sitting session followed by a fruitful discussion on this remarkable meditative experience.

Afterwards, we continued the morning’s practice with a short 30-minute trek, following the orange trail, through Wadsworth State Park enjoying the spectacular multi-colored foliage, the scent of the forest’s crisp autumn air, and the friendly and delightful conversions amongst the participants.

One dharma friend wrapped up the entire morning experience by saying , “It couldn’t have been better.”  Another attendee suggested that “the sangha needs to host another event like this in the spring.” A special thanks for all participants for making this a memorable field trip.

Our next Sangha field trip will in mid-December to the Yale Art Gallery to view Buddhist and other art expositions, and then go to nearby Bar Pizzeria in New Haven, Connecticut. See our home page for details.
