Shin Buddhist Retreat/Workshop
Barre Center for Buddhist Studies, Barre, MA
July 31- August 2, 2015
What is it to be a complete human being? Who am I? How can I live? What is my spiritual potential? These are some of the questions that will be explored in this unique retreat experience.
This annual and unique retreat/workshop will take place on July 31 -August 2 in Barre, Ma, from Friday 7:30 p.m. – Sunday 2 p.m. It is not a NEIBS sponsored event but we highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in learning about Shin, a Buddhism for ordinary working people. This year’s main topic is titled, Realization of Oneness on the Mandalic Journey of Life and Death, Heaven and Hell.
Also, a special Memorial Service in honor of Dr. Taitetsu Unno, will take place right before the beginning of the retreat at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 31 in the Dharma Hall at the Barre Center for Buddhist Studies. This service will be lead by his son, Dr. Mark Unno with special reflection by Rev. Senpai G. Lewis. Dr. T. Unno was the foremost Shin scholar in North America, the founder of the Northampton Shin Sangha, and an inspiration for the Buddhist Faith Fellowship of Connecticut. All are invited.
