Here are important details to help you prepare for our Practice and Talk Meeting:
There is plenty of free street parking on Washington Terrace and even more on Mount Vernon. Just be mindful not to park where there is a yellow line.
You will meet one of our Fellowship members. These friendly volunteers are here to welcome you, answer any questions you may have, and offer information on our other programs. If you never practiced meditation or chanting before, they can give you the basics.
One of the volunteers can help you find a seat in the Dharma Hall. You may sit on a zafu (meditation cushion) or in a chair. There is no assigned seating except for the ones on both sides of the altar.
Our Sunday morning gathering lasts about 1 1/2 hours. If you are a newcomer, we suggest arriving early, around 8:45 a.m., so you won’t feel rushed.
After the Practice and Talk Meeting, we would enjoy the opportunity to meet you. Sometimes a volunteer will bring in coffee or tea for the congregation. Folks at the Buddhist Faith Fellowship are very welcoming and laid-back so feel free to ask them questions.
