KTD Monastery Field Trip

We will be having a group excursion to the Karma Dharmachakra Triyana (KDT) Monastery in Woodstock, NY on Saturday, July 12th.  Includes a tour of monastery at 1 p.m., and in the afternoon we will a number of hours to roam the Village of Woodstock. Later, at 4 p.m. there is a Malakala Chanting Ceremony, and in the early evening, we will be participating in a Full Moon Chenrezik chantingPuja/ceremony at 7 p.m. In Tibetan tradition, the full moon is considered an auspicious time for practice. Particularly practices of loving-kindness and compassion, such as the sadhana of Chenrezik, are emphasized.

This is a majestic mountain monastery that should not be missed. A part of the Disney movie, Kundun which recounts the life of the Dalai Lama was filmed there.

Leaving at 8 a.m. from Middletown and Wethersfield at 8 a.m. It will be a 3 hour trip to Woodstock but we will stop along the way for coffee and a quick bite to eat. This is a wonderful event for the family. Kids will love the exotic feel for this place and the cute village of Woodstock which has plenty of little shops to wander through.

We will be caravan up there in a number of cars. However, volunteers will be need for carpooling. Please RSVP at amida@bffct.net or at BFF Meetup.com. We will then let you know where we will be meeting to caravan.
