Our mission as a Buddhist outreach organization is to broaden the scope of the Shin Dharma—the Shin Buddhist teachings—on both personal and collective levels, embodying and sharing its wisdom and values with the entire world.
As 21st-century spiritual pioneers, we seek to cultivate an authentic, yet innovative, and flourishing American Buddhism. While firmly rooted in its traditional ethos, our approach seeks to address the religious, ethical, and psychological needs of our generation and culture. We do this through the liberating and heart-felt teachings of Shin Buddhism, centering on the original purport of its founder, Shinran Shonin, while remaining grounded in the classic teachings of Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism, the discoveries of modern science, and the biophysical reality of human existence.
