Our Saturday, January 31, 2026 field trip to the Yale University Art Gallery was a rich and enjoyable afternoon of art, learning, and community. During our two-hour visit, we explored Buddhist art\u2014especially the fascinating Gandharan tradition, with its blend of Greco-Roman and Buddhist influences\u2014alongside works from Indonesian, Greco-Roman, and modern collections, including pieces by Picasso, L\u00e9ger, and Dal\u00ed. We also enjoyed viewing the historic paintings of John Trumbull, the American Revolutionary artist and Connecticut native.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Equally meaningful was the chance to connect as a sangha. Participants shared how much they appreciated learning together and making new friends, with several saying, \u201cWe should do this again.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We ended the day with a short walk to BAR Pizza, sharing a variety of pizzas, especially the popular mashed potato pizza, and good conversation. It was a wonderful blend of Dharma, art, and sangha, and we look forward to future outings together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
