NY on August 13, 2016.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to be a Buddhist or even a supporting member of our Fellowship to participate.\u00a0 There isn&#8217;t any admission fee but the monastery charges $6 per person for lunch. We will meet up in the parking lot at Chuang Yen at 10 am. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-5886 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/bffct.org\/bff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/pilgrim7i.jpg\" alt=\"Buddhist Faith Fellowship of Connecticut\" width=\"272\" height=\"181\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bffct.org\/bff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/pilgrim7i.jpg 640w, https:\/\/bffct.org\/bff\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/pilgrim7i-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 272px) 100vw, 272px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the Buddhist teachings, art, history, \u00a0and culture, and enjoy a beautiful day with others on the path.\u00a0 So, bring your family and friends. Chuang Yen Monastery in Carmel, NY (just 20 min from Danbury) has North America&#8217;s tallest indoor Buddha statue and more.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about the monastery by visit <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.baus.org\/en\/?cat=14\">http:\/\/www.baus.org\/en\/?cat=14<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Itinerary<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Travel:<\/strong> It takes 90 min. from Hartford\/Middletown to arrive at the monastery, just off I-84 New York.\u00a0 Visit Google maps, MapQuest or use your GPS. We are organizing a carpool\/caravan meetup in front of the College of East Asian Studies (where the BFF of Ct meets) at 8:15 am departing at 8:30 am sharp. If you are interesting in meeting there email us at <a href=\"mailto:amida@bffct.org\">amida@bffct.org <\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meeting up at Monastery at 10 a.m. At this point, we\u2019ll stretch our legs and have the restroom break.\u00a0 Try to arrive a 10 a.m.\u00a0 so we can meet in the parking lot.\u00a0 If not, we can meet near the restrooms at the left front side of the Great Buddha Hall.<\/li>\n<li>Guided tour begins at 10:30 a.m. (in front of Great Buddha Hall) and will last approx.1 hour.<\/li>\n<li>Traditional Chinese vegetarian lunch at 12 noon. (cost $6 per person)<\/li>\n<li>Otherwise, after lunch it will be free time. Here are some options:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In the afternoon.
