Metta, a word derived from the Pali language or \u201cmaitri\u201d in Sanskrit, is translated as benevolence, friendliness, kindness or universal love.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond the concept, Metta Bhavana (practice) is an ancient and popular systematic practice of universal love. It is a powerful way to open and soften the heart.\u00a0 This form of visual meditation combines specific phrases that begins with wishing oneself well-being and then continues to extend it to one&#8217;s loved ones, friends, teachers, strangers, even challenging people.<\/p>\n<p>Research has shown that Metta practice reduces pain and anger, and can help boost positive emotions and well-being in life.<\/p>\n<p>Presented by Dharma Teacher Rev.
