At today’s Buddhist Family Practice, Jessica read an excerpt from “The Want Monsters: And How They Stopped Ruling My World”. We discussed the lessons of the book, including
- how some “wanting” can be beneficial
- how patience and time can help to reduce our excessive wants
- how practicing acceptance can be helpful
Afterwards the kids had an opportunity to create their own “want monster” and were invited to write or think of any “wants” that have become too big, and how they can use the ideas from today to get them down to a better size.
