Twice a month, we offer two unique Drop-in Classes and Practice that introduce the core teachings of Buddhism and the easy practice and unconditional compassion of Shin Buddhism.  Our Drop-in Classes are non-committing opportunities to learn about Buddhism in a nurturing, gentle, and systematic way. Buddhist Drop-in Classes in Connecticut

On the 2nd Sunday of the month, we present Buddhism 101 with the insightful and easy-to-read The Heart of the Buddha’s Teachings by the well-renowned Vietnamese master, Thich Nhat Hanh.  Our teacher, Senpai Lewis-Bastías, who initially studied in the Vietnamese Thien tradition, under the Venerable Thich Tri Hong, gives a personal and discerning perspective on this book.

On the 4th Sunday of the month, we offer Discovering Shin using the modern classic, River of Fire, River of Water by Dr. Taitetsu Unno. River of Fire was the inspirational book that motivated our teacher Senpai Lewis-Bastías, who was a student of Unno, to establish the Buddhist Faith Fellowship in 2001.

These Drop-in Classes have been designed to be complimentary with each other. One class teaches the core Buddhist teachings while the other presents an insightful and inspirational look on how to live the teachings (dharma) in hectic 21st century life. If you have been studying Buddhism for a while, these Drop-ins will give you a systematic refresher course on the dharma and will be well worth of your time and effort.
